Full Moon Farm Collective
Fall 2024 - Spring 2025
Website design, visual identity, photography
Based in the mountains of Deep Gap, NC, Full Moon Farm Collective is a non-profit that provides the local community with wholesome, sustainably-grown organic produce, as well as healing spaces to re-connect with nature and workshops to teach hands-on life skills. When Full Moon transitioned into non-profit work in 2024, they reached out to our class for help building a web presence and expanding upon their pre-existing visual identity, as it was important to establish a recognizable identity and draw in donors that could help to support and participate in their mission. I continued to work with Full Moon into the Spring semester, taking time to optimize their website as well as establish systems that they could continue to utilize afterward.
Full Moon Farm Collective’s visual language draws from the idea of “transcendence”, utilizing earth tones to represent their deep, intrinsic connection with mother nature. A varied palette allows for a range of flexible color combinations that remain readable and accessible to a wide audience. A softer serif for headers is cleanly legible, but still refined and humanistic.
In mid-February, Full Moon Farm Collective was busy germinating seedlings in their greenhouse to prepare for the upcoming spring season.
Earthworms play a vital role in breaking down compost into vital nutrients for young seedlings.
Kara Dodson, lead farmer and executive director of the non-profit, takes time to carefully sow seeds by hand.
Linus and Lucy are two of the resident draft horses, who work to plow the fields as well as take part in equine therapy workshops.
While the urban areas of nearby Boone had mostly recovered since Hurricane Helene, Full Moon was still busy working to clear out debris left by the storm.
Debris from Helene was gathered up and then burned responsibly.
Though the weather was chilly and the trees hadn't begun to bloom yet, there was no shortage of work to be done on the farm.
